Here the original link and here our forum discussion. So what? Gettys is up for sale? Better said for auction, but not on ebay! Anybody having 1.5 billion $$$$$$ to spare? Personally I am more concerned about Istock’s future then about Gettys itself, aren’t I am selfish
My personal guess is that the whole lot is bought up by Bill Gates’ imperium that includes corbis and craphamlet, pardon me, wanted to say Snapvillage already. Boys and Girls we are up for interesting times with this one! SY

Quality Returns to the Stock Photography Market

LONDON, October 16 2007
Picture Editors who are passionate about quality have a powerful new ally in ImagePick – a new Royalty Free image service. Founded by ex-Getty Images CFO Lawrence Gould and former Getty Images Director of E-Commerce, Tom Donnelly, ImagePick intends to shift the tectonic plates of the stock industry from Quantity back to Quality.
The creative team at ImagePick are poring over millions of images, carefully selecting those that provide the most vibrant and contemporary creative content.
The ImagePick website (http://www.imagepick.com) has been designed with simplicity and ease-of-use in mind. Large numbers of thumbnails on a single search provide a fast and efficient way of finding the perfect image.
“We want every picture editor to take the ImagePick Challenge,” explains Lawrence Gould, CEO. “We’re confident that when editors experience the results of an image search on ImagePick, they will wonder why they entertained mediocre image solutions for so long.
ImagePick has partnered with the rights-holders of the finest image collections available including Corbis, Jupiterimages, Blend, Rubberball and Westend61. “With so many great images available, it’s time to ‘raise the bar’ on quality and be very selective about what we show to our clients” said Alison Crabtree-Brophy, ImagePick’s US Director of Sales. ” We know that ‘Good enough’ is no longer good enough”.
ImagePick is available worldwide through its web site with sales offices in Chicago and London. For more information go to http://www.imagepick.com, or contact:
